This section also describes how to use the T9 predictivetext entry system to reduce the amount of key strokes associated with entering text.Changing the Text Input ModeThe Text Input option switches the key entry functions from T9 Mode, ABC Mode,Numeric Mode, and Symbols Mode.T9 ModeThis mode allows you to enter words with only one keystroke per letter.Each key on the keypad has more than one letter; for example, pressingthe 5 key can enter J, K, or L. However, the T9 mode automaticallycompares the series of keystrokes you make with an internal linguisticdictionary to determine the most likely word, thus requiring far fewerkeystrokes than the traditional Alphabet mode.ABC ModeThis mode allows you to enter letters by pressing the key labeled with theletter you want. Press the key once, twice, three, or four times until itdisplays.Numeric ModeThis mode allows you to enter numbers.Symbols ModeThis mode allows you to enter symbols, such as punctuation marks.When you are in a field that allows characters to be entered, you will notice the textinput mode indicator on the display.
