26Section 3: Call FunctionsThis section describes how to make, answer or end calls.Making CallsMaking Calls Using the Phone Dialer1. From a Home screen panel, touch Phone.2. Touch the digits of the telephone or speed dial number onthe Keypad screen.While dialing, use these options:• Press Menu, then touch Add to contacts to add to thecontacts list.• Press Menu, then touch Add 2-sec pause to insert a2-second pause in the telephone number.• Press Menu, then touch Add wait to insert a Wait pause inthe telephone number, to pause dialing to wait for input from you.3. Touch Call.Dialing Emergency NumbersWhen you call an Emergency Number, such as 911, do notdisconnect the call or make other calls until advised to do so bythe emergency operator. This enables emergency operators tomore easily dispatch aid, such as police, fire fighting, andemergency medical personnel.1. From a Home screen panel, touch Phone.The Keypadscreen appears in the display.2. Enter 911.3. To place the call, touch .Important!: Emergency number 911 is preset into your phone.If you call 911 an audible tone is heard and an EmergencyNumber prompt appears in the display for the duration of thecall.Important!: Because of various transmission methods, network parameters,and user settings necessary to complete a call from yourwireless phone, a connection cannot always be guaranteed.Therefore, emergency calling may not be available on allwireless networks at all times.Important!: DO NOT depend on this phone as a primary method of calling911 or for any other essential or emergency communications.Note: You can specify other numbers than 911 as emergency numbers usingthe Emergency Number settings.
