Connections 101• The SSID name for your phone’s hotspot is determined by theentry in the Network SSID field. You can change the name bytapping Configure portable Wi-Fi hotspot Network SSID andchanging the entry.3. Select this Hotspot and follow the on-screen instructions tocomplete the connection.4. Launch your Web browser to confirm you have an Internetconnection.PC ConnectionsYou can connect your device to a PC using an optional PC datacable using various USB connection modes. When you connectthe device to a PC, you can synchronize files with Windows MediaPlayer, transfer data to and from your device directly, or use theKies air application to access your PC wirelessly.Note: To use any downloaded market application that requires a USBconnection between your phone and your PC, you should first set theUSB setting to Mass storage.Connecting as a Mass Storage DeviceYou can connect your device to a PC as a removable disk andaccess the file directory. If you insert a memory card in the device,you can also access the files directory from the memory card byusing the device as a memory card reader.Note: The file directory of the memory card displays as a removable disk,separate from the internal memory.1. From the Home screen, tap Settings More... USB utilities Connect storage to PC.2. Connect a USB cable from your phone to your PC.3. Tap Turn on USB storage OK. Both the phone andcomputer display icons to show that the device is mounted.As soon as the connection is established a drive letter isassigned to the phone’s storage device.A pop-up window displays on the PC when connected.4. Open the folder to view files.5. Copy files between your PC and your memory card asrequired.6. To exit, tap Turn off USB storage.Kies AirKies Air allows you to sync your Windows PC wirelessly with yourphone provided they are both on the same network. You can viewand share call logs, videos, photos, music, bookmarks, ringtones,and even send SMS messages from your PC.
