Installation and Operation Manual263-4-3 Latitude and longitudeLatitude and longitude coordinates define aposition on earth and can be displayed indata bar.In the data bar, own ship position is shownas below:47° 43.000’ N or S Latitude003° 21.656’ E or W LongitudeHowever, if you move the cursor, then thelatitude and longitude in the data bar is thecursor’s position as below.47° 43.325 N or S Latitude003° 29.607 E or W LongitudeInfoLatitude: Angular distance North or South ofthe equator measured by lines encircling theearth parallel to the equator in degrees from0° to 90°.Longitude: angular distance North or South ofthe equator measured by lines encircling theearth parallel to the equator in degrees from0° to 90°.When reading the boatposition, make sure theposition is not the cursorposition.3-4-4 Chart scaleThe chart scale change by pressing toshow more detail information of chart and byto show wider view of the chart.When you press or , the scale ofchart is display in the chart on top left corner.3-4-5 Finding a chart symbolThis function is only available when C-MAPSD card is inserted and C-map is selected.To find a port by name1 Press .2 Select Find then Port by name.3 Press or to select a letter then pressfor next letter.4 Once you enter the name of port, press.5 After searching process, select a nearestport in the list then the cursor will placeon the port you selected on the chartwindow.6 Repeat 2-3 steps of D section to display theinformation.To find port & service1 Press .2 Select Find then Port & service.3 Select a service you want to find.4 After searching process, select a nearestservice area in the list then the cursor willplace on the service area you selected onS-MAP does not support thisfunction.(See 2-4 for chart selection)
