Make abso-lutely sure that you insert the batteries with the correct polarity asmarked. Do not use rechargeable batteries.• Replace the battery cover carefully.• With batteries inserted, the unit permanently displays either thetime or the date.If the ‘change battery’ icon is displayed, measurement is nolonger possible and you must replace all the batteries.The empty, completely flat batteries must be disposed of throughspecially designated collection boxes, recycling points or electronicsretailers. You are legally required to dispose of the batteries.The codes below are printed on batteries containingharmful substances:Pb = Battery contains lead,Cd = Battery contains cadmium,Hg = Battery contains mercury.Setting date and timeIt is vital to set date and time.
