41Playback procedureNOTES:• If a non-compatible disc is loaded,“Incorrect Disc”, “Region Code Error”or “Parental Error” will appear on the TVscreen according to the type of loadeddisc. If these appear, check your discagain (see pages 9 and 57).• Some discs may take a minute or soto start playback.• If an 8 cm disc is placed into the disc slotand picture playback or menu displaydoes not begin automatically, pressPLAY.• A “Prohibition” symbol “ ” may appearat the upper left of the screen. Thissymbol means either the feature youtried is not available on the disc, or theunit cannot access the feature at thistime. This does not indicate a problemwith the unit.• If you place a single-faced disc labelbackwards (i.e. the wrong way) “Reading”will appear in the display and then“Incorrect Disc” will be displayed.• Some playback operations of DVDs maybe intentionally fixed by software produc-ers. Since this unit plays DVDs accordingto the disc content recorded, someplayback features may not beavailable. Also refer to the instructionssupplied with the DVDs.4On the screen, “55555”changes to “Reading” andthen playback willcommence.• A menu screen mayappear on the TV screen,if the disc has a menufeature. In this case,press , , , orENTER to operate amenu feature.3Press STOP to end playback.• The unit memorizes the stopped point, depending onthe disc. “ ” appears on the screen. Press PLAY toresume playback (from the scene point).• If you press STOP again (“ ” appears on the screen)or unload the disc, the unit will clear the stopped point.5 Press 55555 (EJECT).Remove the disc and then press POWER.The unit turns off.When you eject the disc, you may hear mechanism noise,but it is not malfunction.1 Press TV/DVD to select DVD mode.2 Place the disc in the discslot with the label sidefacing forward.
