Visit our Web site at www.sanyoctv.com or Call 1-800-877-50323CHANNEL SEARCHWhen the television is powered onfor the first time, it automaticallychecks for the presence of an RFsignal.• Press the POWER key to turnon the DTV.• Then press the CHANNELUP key to automaticallysearch for available channels:Digital (ATSC) and Analog (NTSC).The Channel Search contains two processes that areexecuted simultaneously for digital and analogchannels.NOTES:The on-screen message for digital search will appear with aprogress bar and percentile number displayed across thebottom of the screen (to indicate activity) as the search processcontinues. (Channel numbers will appear under the progressbar only when a digital channel is found.)Channel information found during the channel search isstored in the Channel Scan Memory database. After thechannel search is completed, the DTV will tune to the lowestDigital channel or lowest Analog channel if no digital channelsare found.If the DTV does not detect anydigital or analog channels, amessage advising the viewerto check the cables andantenna connections willappear. In this case, you mustpress the CHANNEL UP keyagain to repeat the channelsearch process. If after twosearches the DTV still fails to detect any channels, the DTVwill tune to analog channel 3. These two channel searchesare necessary even if you plan to use the DTV only as amonitor.If no analog or digital channels are found after the secondsearch, Channel Search will default to off-air analog channels2 through 69 and digital channel D3-1. Select analog channelsusing the remote control keypad. See page 11, itemnumber 3.4AUTO CLOCK SETTING (Optional)After channel search is complete, the DTV will beginAuto Clock setting. This feature searches for a localPBS station that is broadcasting an extended dataservice signal. This signal is used to automaticallyset the clock/day. (Thismay take severalseconds.) To cancel autoclock setting, press theCHANNEL UP key. (Toset the clock manually,see page 19.)5ANTENNA SELECTION (Optional)To change the initial ANALOG tuning system setup(from antenna to cable or cable to antenna), usethe on-screen menu. See “Antenna Selection” onpage 15.2 INSTALL TWO “AAA” BATTERIESIMPORTANT NOTE: Spent or discharged batteries must be recycledor disposed properly in compliance with all applicable laws. Fordetailed information, contact your local County Solid WasteAuthority.• Install two “AAA” Batteries(not included) so that the“+” and “–” marks on thebatteries match the “+”and “–” marks insidethe Remote.To review the Remotefunctions, go toPages 11 ~ 12. Remove the batteries if the remote control will not be used for amonth or more. Weak batteries may leak and cause damage.(Normal battery life is roughly six months.) If batteries have leaked in the Remote Control Unit, carefully wipethe case clean and load new batteries.
