- 7 -LISTENING TO THE RADIO1. Set the FUNCTION switch to RADIO.2. Select the desired radio band with the BANDswitch.3. Tune in a desired station by turning theTUNING control.4. To turn the radio off, set the FUNCTIONswitch to TAPE/OFF or CD or LINE IN.To receive FM stereo broadcastsSet the FM MODE select switch (the back of theunit) to ST.- If the signal from an FM stereo station is weakand reception is poor, set the FM MODEselect switch to MONO. The reception may beimproved, but the sound will be monaural.To improve receptionFM: Pull out the telescopic aerial and adjustits position.AM: Rotate the unit.RECORDINGRecording copyright material without permissionof the copyright owners is usually an infringement.If you wish to re-record copyright material,permission from the copyright owner is necessary.SANYO does not approve of, and cannot be heldresponsible for, any unlawful use of this machine.Recording from CD (Synchronousrecording)1. Load a blank cassette.2. Set the FUNCTION switch to CD.3. Load a CD to be recorded.- Select the track if required.- For programmed recording, pro-gramme the material in advance.4. Press the REC button. The PLAY buttonis engaged simultaneously and recordingstarts.5. Press the STOP/EJECT button to stoprecording at any time. When the end of thetape is reached, deck stop automatically andthe playback of CD enters stop mode.Recording from the radio or other sources1. Load a blank cassette.2. Tune in the radio station to be recorded or playother sources.3. Press the REC button to start recording.4. Press the STOP/EJECT button to stoprecording.When beat is heardBeat (a high-pitched noise) may sometimes beheard during the recording of radio broadcasts.If this occurs, set the BEAT CANCEL switch (theback of the unit) to 1 or 2 position that reducesthe level of the beat noise.Safeguards against accidental erasureTo protect side A, break out tab (1).
