2k Do not hold the hot part for a long timei The camera may become warm during use.A low temperature burn may result if you hold the hotpart for a long time.k Do not cover or wrap the camera in a cloth orblanketi It may generate heat and cause the casing to warp orcause a fire.k After using the camera in water, follow these stepsto wash it.1 Securely close the battery/card compartment cover.2 Fill a shallow basin with fresh water, and immerse thecamera for about 5 minutes.3 Rotate the monitor unit several times.4 Drain the camera completely, and use a dry cloth towipe off any remaining moisture.k To maintain your camera’s waterproof capabilityi It is recommended that the waterproof seal bereplaced with a new one every year. (There is acharge for replacing it.)i For replacing the waterproof seal, please contact yourdealer.DANGERWARNING CAUTIONk Do not recharge a battery pack other than thespecified battery packi Recharging a dry-cell battery or other type ofrechargeable battery may cause excess heat,combustion, or leakage, and cause a fire, injuries,burns, or damage to nearby objects.k Concerning the power cordi The voltage rating for the power cord supplied withthis camera conforms to the standards of the countryin which the camera was sold.k Do not get the charger weti Make sure it does not get wet, as doing so may causea fire or electric shock.i Do not use it in a bathroom.i If the charger gets wet, immediately unplug it from thepower outlet and remove the battery pack. Thencontact the place of purchase. If used while wet, itmay cause a fire, electric shock, or an accident.k Cautions when plugging in the power cordi Securely plug the power cord all the way into thepower outlet. If the charger is used with the powercord not fully plugged in, heat may be generated andcause a fire.i Do not use if the power cord is damaged or cannot becorrectly plugged into the power outlet. Using in thiscondition may cause a fire or electric shock.i Do not allow dust, etc., to build up on the power cordor power outlet. A build-up of dust may cause a shortcircuit or generate heat and cause a fire. Use a drycloth to remove dust or dirt build-up after unpluggingthe cord from the power outlet.i When unplugging the power cord, be sure to hold theplug part and slowly pull it out of the power outlet.Pulling the cord portion may damage the power cordand cause a fire or electric shock.k Do not damage the power cordi Do not place heavy objects on the power cord. Do notplace the power cord near a heat source. Do notexcessively bend the power cord, modify it, or secureit with staples. Doing so may damage the power cordand cause a fire or electric shock.i If the power cord is damaged, or if it does not plugproperly into the charger or wall outlet, contact theplace of purchase.k Cautions concerning the power cordi Do not leave the power cord plugged into an electricaloutlet while the other end is not plugged into thecharger. The loose end can cause electrocution iftouched with wet hands or if handled by children.i Use only the supplied power cord. If a different powercord is used, it may be rated for a different currentload, and that may cause a fire.i The supplied power cord is for exclusive use with thecharger supplied with your camera. Do not use it withother devices, as doing so may cause a fire or electricshock.i Do not use a bundled power cord, as the heatgenerated may cause a fire.k Do not touch the power cord plug with wet handsi Doing so may cause an electric shock.k Do not place on an unstable surfacei If may fall, resulting in damage or injury.i If it falls and the body is damaged, remove the batterypack and contact the place of purchase. If used whiledamaged, it may cause a fire, electric shock, or otherdamage.k Other cautionsi Use only the supplied or specified charger with yourcamera.i If a charger other than the one specified is used, itmay damage the camera and cause a fire or electricshock.Use the supplied or specified charger only with thespecified camera. Do not connect to other cameras,as doing so may result in damage.k Cautions during use and storagei Do not use or store close to a heat source (close to astove or heater) or leave it exposed to direct sunlight,as doing so may result in defective operation ordamage.i To avoid the danger of possible fire, be sure toremove the power cord from the power outlet beforeleaving home for a trip or if otherwise the devices willnot be used for a long time.Operating environment:i Temperature 0 to 40°C (32 to 104°F) (charging)–20 to 60°C (–4 to 140°F) (storage)i Humidity 10 to 80% (charging and storage)CAUTIONk Cautions concerning the cardi Immediately after use, the card will be very hot.Before removing the card, turn off the camera andwait for the temperature to cool down.i Keep out of the reach of children. Young children mayput the card in their mouth and choke or cause someother unexpected injury or accident.k Cautions when handling the cardsi The cards are precision devices. Do not bend, drop,or subject them to strong forces or shocks.i Avoid using or storing the cards in places withextremely high or low temperatures, subject to directsunlight, in a completely closed vehicle, near airconditioners or heaters, or in humid or dustylocations.i Avoid using or storing the cards in locations wherestrong static electrical charges or electrical noise canbe easily generated.i Do not allow the edges of the cards to becomecontaminated with foreign materials. Gently wipeaway any contamination with a soft, dry cloth.i Do not carry the cards in trouser pockets, as thecards may become damaged when you sit down ormake other movements that may apply force.i Before using a new card or a card that was used inother equipment, be sure to format it using thecamera.
