Doing somay cause a fire or electric shock.i The camera, especially, incorporates high-voltage circuits.i Any internal check, setting, or repair should be performedby the dealer.i Do not use the AC adaptor as a direct current generator.CAUTIONS CONCERNING THE CAMERAWARNINGCAUTIONk Do not use while drivingi Do not capture images, play back images, or watch the LCDmonitor while driving a vehicle. Doing so may cause anaccident.i Be careful where you put down the camera inside anautomobile. During sudden stops or turns it may fall behindthe brake pedal and prevent braking.k Be aware of your surroundings when using the camerai Pay close attention to your surroundings when using thecamera. Failure to do so may lead to an accident or injury.i When using the camera while walking, be very careful ofyour surroundings and especially the traffic to avoidaccidents.i Do not use the camera inside an airplane or elsewherewhere its use may be restricted. Doing so may cause anaccident.k Do not get the camera weti This camera is not water-resistant. Do not allow it to getwet, as doing so may cause a fire or electric shock.i Do not use the camera in a bathroom.i If the camera gets wet, immediately turn it off and removethe battery pack. Then take it to a dealer for repair. Usingthe camera after it has been become wet may cause a fire,electric shock, or other accident.k Do not place on an unstable surfacei The camera may fall, resulting in damage to the camera orinjury.i If the camera has fallen and its body is damaged, turn it off,remove the battery pack, and take it to the dealer for repair.Using the camera after its body has been damaged maycause a fire or electric shock.k Do not look through the camera into the suni Do not look through the camera at the sun or any otherstrong source of light. Doing so may seriously injure youreyes.k Do not use the flash close to a person’s facei To prevent possible eye injury, do not use the flash near aperson’s face. If the flash is used close to a person’sopened eyes, there is a risk that it may damage thatperson’s eyesight. Especially with young children or babies,use the flash from a distance of at least 1 meter away.k Do not use where there is risk of explosioni Do not use the camera in a location where there isexplosive gas, or any other flammable material in the air.Doing so may cause a fire or an explosion.k Cautions when carrying the camerai Do not walk around with the camera suspended from yourneck or dangling from your wrist. It may hit other objectsand get damaged. When walking around with the camera,secure it with your hand, for example, to prevent it fromswinging around.i Be careful not to drop the camera or subject it to strongshocks.i Make sure direct sunlight does not hit the camera lens, asthat may damage the internal parts. When not using thecamera, be sure to always turn it off and confirm that thelens is covered.k If the camera is not going to be used for a long period oftimei For safety’s sake, remove the battery pack from the camera.This will prevent any possible excess heat or leakage ofbattery fluid that may result in injuries or damage to nearbyobjects.k Cautions during use and storagei This camera is a precision instrument.
