However, performing regular checks will prolong the life ofthe equipment and prevent problems from happening.It is beyond the scope of this manual to list every check that you shouldperform on your BSS. The type and frequency of maintenance checks willdepend on the location and type of your system. The checks and procedureslisted below can be used as a starting point for your maintenance schedule.Remote Monitoring You can monitor the performance of your TB8100 BSS remotely by usingthe Service Kit and Alarm Center software provided with the equipment.You can use the Service Kit to configure the BSS to generate alarms whenits performance falls outside your own pre-defined limits. Refer to theService Kit and Alarm Center documentation for more details.Performance Checks We suggest you monitor the following operational parameters using theService Kit: VSWR DC input voltage, especially on transmit receiver sensitivity the setting of the receiver gate opening any temperature alarms.These basic checks will provide an overview of how well your BSS isoperating.Reciter There are no special maintenance requirements for the reciter. You may,however, choose to recalibrate the TCXO frequency periodically. Refer tothe Calibration Kit documentation for more details.PA There are no special maintenance requirements for the PA.PMU There are no special maintenance requirements for the PMU. However, ifyou are using battery back-up, you should check the batteries regularly inaccordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.Ventilation The TB8100 BSS has been designed to have a front-to-back cooling airflow.We strongly recommend that you periodically check and maintain theventilation requirements described in “Ventilation” on page 78 to ensure along life and trouble-free operation for your BSS.
