Column SlidesThe Transfer Aid uses internally lubricated slides between the inner and outer column sections. These should notrequire lubrication or maintenance. However, if you suspect that there is excessive play between the inner and outercolumns, perform the following procedure.1.Lower the transfer aid to its lowest height.2.Measure the distance between the inner and outer columns at a point at the bottom of the outer column, on the sideof the column that normally faces the patient.3.Lean on the arms, and measure the distance again.4.The difference between these two measurements will normally be about 1/8 in.
