Operator's Manual Seventh Edition • First Printing30 GS-1530/32 • GS-1930/32 Part No. T107207To select drive speedThe drive controls can operate in two differentdrive speed modes while in the stowed position. When the drive speed button light is on, slow drivespeed mode is active. When the drive speedbutton light is off, fast drive speed mode is active.Press the drive speed button to selectthe desired drive speed.Note: When the platform is elevated, the drive speed button light is alwayson, indicating elevated drive speed.Driving on a slopeDetermine the slope and side slope ratings for themachine and determine the slope grade.GS-1530 and GS-1532Maximum slope rating, stowed 30% (17°)Maximum side slope rating, stowed 30% (17°)GS-1930 and GS-1932Maximum slope rating, stowed 25% (14°)Maximum side slope rating, stowed 25% (14°)Note: Slope rating is subject to ground conditionsand adequate traction.Press the drive speed button to the fast drivespeed mode.Operating InstructionsTo determine the slope grade:Measure the slope with a digital inclinometer ORuse the following procedure. You will need:carpenter’s levelstraight piece of wood, at least 1 m longtape measureLay the piece of wood on the slope. At the downhill end, lay the level on the top edge ofthe piece of wood and lift the end until the piece ofwood is level. While holding the piece of wood level, measure thedistance from the bottom of the piece of wood tothe ground.Divide the tape measure distance (rise) by thelength of the piece of wood (run) and multiply by100.Example:Run = 3.6 mRise = 0.3 m0.3 m ÷ 3.6 m = 0.083 x 100 = 8.3%If the slope exceeds the maximum slope or sideslope rating, the machine must be winched ortransported up or down the slope. See Transportand Lifting section.riserun
