GB12Operationthan in other lead-acid batteries. If you use thewrong charger for a gel battery, a reducedoutput or shorter service life can be expected.– 6 V Regular: Choose this mode for commercial6-V batteries.Charge-start button 3 : Use this button toswitch between the following options:– Fast charge: fast charging (recommended forlow outdoor temperatures/winter)– Normal charge: normal charging (normalspeed)– Start: supplies 75 Ampere briefly to bridgebatteries with a weak charge or flat batteriesfor starting the engineAttention: The mode can only be terminated bypulling the mains cable 7 . Using the jump-startfunctionAlways make all connections asdescribed and in the proper order. Otherwise, theelectronic system of the vehicle can be damaged. If proceeding contrary to the specificationsdescribed, you will act at your own risks andresponsibility.Attention: This function is not suitable forbatteries below 45 Ah. For batteries below 45 Ah,this function may damage the battery. For dieselvehicles and large-volume gasoline motors, highercurrents than 75 A are needed for starting at times.Note: The charger has an analysis program thatprotects the battery from damage in particularfor the jump-start function (e.g. sulphatisation, toostrong voltage drops). If the batteries are dis-charged very strongly or subject to very high stress, the device will not activate the jump-starter toprotect the battery. During this process, the batteryis already being charged at low currents (chargingis lit). The display then stays at "0". In this case, jump starting is not possible. This protects thebattery from damage. The battery should becharged first. The function "Fast Charge" or"Normal Charge" can be used for this. If the connection terminals are connectedcorrectly, the car charger will automaticallychoose the proper battery type. You can checkit in the option field "Battery type" and changeit by pushing the Battery-Type button 2 ifnecessary. Now use the Charge-Start button 3 to selectthe function "Start". The car charger nowanalysis the charge condition of the battery. The display now shows "0". Now actuate the vehicle's ignition. A count-down of 5 seconds now starts in the display(including a lead time or analysis function of2 seconds and jump-start function of 3 secondsat 75 A), when jump-start by the car chargeris necessary (this will be analysed by the carcharger in advance). During this countdown, your car charger will briefly supply 75 A, inorder to bridge the battery for starting the en-gine. This will be followed by a break of 180seconds to protect the battery. Now the cyclerestarts (2 seconds lead or analysis functionand 3 seconds jump-start function at 75 A /180 seconds pause). To disconnect the device, remove the connec-tion terminals first ( 6 / 5 ) and then pull themains cable 7 .Note: If the battery is discharged entirely, the75 A will not be sufficient to start the engine in allvehicles (e.g. diesel vehicles). In this case, use the Charge-Start button 3to select the option "Fast Charge" and thencharge the battery to 60 % (for diesel engines, the warm-up withdraws energy from the bat-tery. The 60% must be pending after warm-up).You can track charging progress at the display byselecting the option "Battery %" with the digitaldisplay button 1 . When 60% is reached, repeat the jump-startfunction.Attention: End the mode by pulling the mainsplug 7 .
