41Performing a Cool BootA hard reset cuts off power to your device, erasing all records and entries,deleting all programs you have added, and restoring the device to defaultfactory settings.Never perform a hard reset unless a soft reset does not correct your problem.When you perform your next ActiveSync operation, you can restore any datathat you previously synchronized to your computer or you can restore data thatyou backed up to a storage card.NOTE: When you perform a hard reset, the date and time settings are not beretained. Formats, preferences, and other settings are restored to theirdefault factory settings.Method 1:Follow these instructions to perform a cool boot.1. Press and hold the Func + Backspace key.2. While holding the Func key and-Backspacekey, insert the tip of the stylus into the resethole on the back of the PA600. Press andhold the reset button until you see theUnitech splash logo screen. Wait 5 secondsand then release the Func key andBackspace key.NOTE: The system is returned to the default settings. All registry settings andall files (include the hidden files) are returned to their original factorydefaults.
