14 15Replacing the battery in hearing aids with atamper-resistant battery doorSome hearing aids have a tamper-resistant battery door for safetyreasons. To replace the battery,open the battery compartmentand push the locking piece backinside the hearing aid using thetip of a pen.Remove the old battery. Insert anew one with the plus (+) sign onthe battery facing the same wayas the plus (+) sign on the side ofthe battery door. The new batterywill be secured when you closethe battery door.2.3.1.Replacing the battery1. Gently swing out the batterydoor with your fingernail.2. Grasp the battery with yourthumb and index finger andremove.3. Insert the new battery into thebattery compartment with theplus (+) sign on the batteryfacing the same way as theplus (+) sign on the side of thebattery door. This will ensurethat the battery door closesproperly.Note: If the battery is insertedincorrectly, the hearing aid willnot turn on.4. Close the battery door.2.3.1.4.
