4Putting your hearing aids on your earsYour behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids may becolor-coded with a small dot on the battery door:red = right ear; blue = left ear.BTEs with earmolds1. Hold the earmold betweenyour thumb and index finger.The opening should bepointing in towards your earcanal with the BTE restingupwards over the top of yourear.2. Carefully insert the earmoldin your ear. You may needto twist it slightly to theback. The earmold shouldfit into your ear snugly andcomfortably.
