6INTRODUCTIONTHERMOcompact boilerThe THERMOcompact is a fullyautomatic, wall mounted, room sealedsystem boiler for central heating anddomestic hot water (where a separateindirect hot water storage cylinder isalso incorporated in the system). The THERMOcompact range consistsof models with outputs of 15, 20,24 kW and 28 kW.All THERMOcompact boilers areavailable in Natural Gas. The 20 and28 kW versions are also available inLPG.General NotesThe boilers have been designed foruse with a sealed central heatingsystem, and come fully tested andassembled with a built in circulatingpump, expansion vessel and divertervalve (TURBOmax Plus only). The boi-lers are not suitable for use on openvented systems. The boilers are easily sited on anyinternal wall and can be installedwith either a horizontal or verticalRSF (room sealed fan assisted) flue. Two types of flue systems areavailable, the standard concentric fluesystem (100 mm outside diameter)and a larger diameter concentric fluesystem (125 mm outside diameter)which allows longer flue lengths to beachieved. Flue extensions andadditional bends and elbows areavailable for both flue systems toincrease the siting flexibility. There is also a 100 mm diameterconcentric flue accessory whichconnects to the alternative rear flueoutlet on the boiler for direct throughthe wall installations. The boilers arenot suitable for external installation. If desired, an inhibitor may be usedin the system. Guidance on the use ofinhibitors is contained in theseinstructions. All boilers have a built in diagnosticsystem which indicates theThis feature provides key informationto aid commissioning and faultfinding. The data badge is fitted on the rearof the control panel.See text of General Requirements forinstallation requirements or notes.Vaillant Ltd. support the Benchmarkinitiative.Within the information pack, you willfind a Benchmark Log Book. It isvery important that this is completedcorrectly at the time of installation, commissioning and handover to theuser.Note: This boiler must be installedand serviced by a competent personin accordance with the Gas Safety(Installation and Use) Regulations1998. In the UK „CORGI“registered installers undertake thework to a safe and satisfactorystandard.General InformationTURBOmax Plus boilerEC designationTURBOmax Plus (824/828) andTHERMOcompact boilers(615/620/624/628) carry the "CE"Mark. This demonstrates that the boi-lers fulfil the essential requirements ofthe Gas Appliance Directive(90/396/EEC) and the GasAppliance (Safety) Regulations 1992.The "CE" Mark also demonstrates thatthe boilers comply with therequirements of the ElectromagneticCompatibility Directive(89/336/EEC), the Low VoltageDirective (72/23/EEC), the BoilerEfficiency Directive (92/42/EEC) andthe Boiler (Efficiency) Regulations1993.The TURBOmax Plus is a fullyautomatic, wall mounted, room sealedcombination boiler for central heatingand domestic hot water. Domestic hotwater is supplied directly from theboiler, without requiring a coppercylinder, cold water tank, feed andexpansion tank and associatedpipework. Domestic hot water haspriority over central heating. The TURBOmax Plus range consists ofmodels with outputs for domestic hotwater of 24 kW and 28 kW. Bothversions are available in natural gasand LPG.TURBOmax Plus combination boilersincorporate a warmstart facility thatkeeps the domestic hot water heatexchanger hot, providing aninstantaneous delivery of domestic hotwater. The temperature in the domestic hotwater heat exchanger is limited bythe boiler control system and it is notnecessary to install a scale reducer onthe cold mains to the boiler. However, in exceptionally hard waterareas to prevent scale formation inthe property hot water systempipework, a scale reducer may befitted. The heating system can be filled usingthe built-in filling loop containedwithin the boiler.
