Start-up42 Installation and maintenance instructions ecoTEC plus 0020116700_0110> Remove the front casing from the boiler(¬ section 4.7).110.2 Automatic air vent> Release the cap of the automatic air vent (1) by up totwo rotations.> Open all thermostatic radiator valves.i The ecoTEC plus purges the heating circuit inde-pendently during continuous operation via theautomatic air vent.> Only for VUW boilers: Select test program P.06(¬ section 10.4).The diverter valve moves to the central position, the pumpsdo not run and the boiler does not switch to heating mode.10.7.1 Filling the heating installationi Ensure that the filling and drainage cock on theheating installation is connected to a cold watervalve as per standard.> In order to fill the heating installation, first open the coldwater valve.> Open all thermostatic radiator valves.> Check that both service valves on the boiler are open.> Slowly open the stop valve on the filling line so that thewater flows into the heating system.i If the water pressure in the heating system istoo low, the display switches between fault mes-sage F.22 and the display of the current pressurewhen the boiler is switched on.> Purge the lowest radiator until water flows out of thepurging valve without bubbles.> Purge all other radiators until the entire heating systemhas been filled with water. Close all purging valves.> Use the display to monitor the rising filling pressure inthe heating installation.> Top up with water until the pressure gauge display is inthe middle of the grey area and the required filling pres-sure appears on the display.> After filling, close the stop valve at the filling line and thecold water valve.> Check all connections and the entire system for leaks.10.7.2 Purging the heating system> To purge the heating installation, select test programP.00 (¬ section 10.4).The boiler does not start up, the internal pump operatesintermittently and, as an option, purges the heating circuitor the hot water circuit. The display shows the filling pres-sure of the heating installation.> The filling pressure of the heating installation must notfall below 0.08 MPa (0.8 bar) when purging is in progressas, otherwise, this will not be carried out properly. The test program P.00 runs for 7.5 minutes per circuit. At the end of the filling procedure, the filling pressure ofthe heating installation should be at least 0.02 MPa (0.2 bar)above the counterpressure of the expansion vessel(P Installation ³ PExp + 0.02 MPa (0.2 bar)).> If there is still too much air in the heating installation atthe end of test program P.00, repeat the test program.> Check all connections for leaks.10.7.3 Flushing the system for the first time("cold")i The entire heating system must be flushedthrough completely at least twice: once cold andonce hot, in accordance with the followinginstructions.> Check whether all thermostatic radiator valves and bothservice valves on the boiler are open.> Connect a hose to the drain valve that is located at thelowest position in the heating system.> Open the drain cocks and all the purging valves on theradiators so that the water flows quickly and completelyout of the heating system and the boiler, in order toremove the contamination caused during installation outof the heating system before the boiler is started up.> Close the drain cocks.> Refill the heating system with water, as described in(¬ section 10.7).> Check that the expansion relief valve of the heating sys-tem is functioning correctly by turning the handle on thevalve.
