Operating Manual geoTHERM VWS 0020045200_006d Danger!Risk to life as a consequence of improperuse of the installation. There is a risk of death or serious injuryto the user or third parties or of damageto the device and other property in theevent of improper use or use for which itis not intended.3.2 Requirements of the installation siteThe installation site must be dimensioned such that theheat pump can be properly installed and maintained.• Ask your heating engineer which currently applicablenational building regulations must be observed. The installation site must be dry and generally frost-proof.3.3 Cleaning and careDo not use any scouring or cleaning agents that coulddamage the cladding.h Note!Clean the exterior of your heat pumpwith a damp cloth and a little soap.3.4 Checking the operational condition of theheat pumpIn contrast to heaters based on fossil fuels, no expen-sive maintenance work is necessary for the VaillantgeoTHERM heat pump.h Note!Have your installation checked regularlyby an expert technician company toensure efficient operation of your heatpump.3.4.1 Filling pressure of the heating systemThe filling pressure of the heating installation should bechecked at regular intervals. The filling pressure of theheating installation can be checked from the reading onthe heat pump controller (see sect. 5.5). It should be be-tween 1 and 2 bar. If the water pressure falls below0.5 bar, the heat pump will be shut down automaticallyand an error message will be displayed.a Caution!Risk of damage from water escapingfrom leaks in the system.Close the cold water stop valve in theevent of leaks in the hot water pipework. In the event of leaks in the heatinginstallation switch off the heat pump toavoid any further leaking.Have the leaks repaired by an experttechnician.h Note! The cold water stop valve is not part ofthe heat pump scope of supply. It is fit-ted on site by your heating engineer. Hewill explain the location and handling ofthe component to you.3.4.2 Filling level and filling pressure of the brinecircuitCheck the brine level or pressure in the brine circuit atregular intervals. The filling pressure of the brine circuit("Pressure Heat Source") can be checked from the rea-ding on the heat pump controller (see sect. 5.5).It should be between 1 and 2 bar. If the brine pressurefalls below 0.2 bar, the heat pump will be shut downautomatically and an error message will be displayed.a Caution!Risk of damage from brine escaping fromleaks in the system. In the event of leaks in the brine circuitswitch off the heat pump to avoid anyfurther leaking.Have the leaks repaired by an experttechnician.a Caution! The brine circuit must be filled with thecorrect quantity of fluid; otherwise thesystem can be damaged. If the filling level of the brine has fallen so far that it isno longer visible in the expansion tank, you must havethe brine refilled.3 Notes on operation
