9. HOTBOX INSTALLATION9.1 Method 1 - Front fixing to fireplace surround.1. If this method of fixing is required thefront flange of the hotbox can be drilled inthe positions shown in figure 17 using asuitably sized drill bit for the woodscrewssupplied. When drilling the right hand sideensure that the screw heads / screwpositions do not obstruct the operation of theslider control.2. Make sure that the fireplace frontsurround area is sound enough to take thefibre plugs and woodscrews. If necessary, make sound with suitable cement.3. Place the hotbox centrally in the fireplacein the position in which it is to bepermanently installed. If a concealedconnection is being used, insert the hotbox into the fireplace feeding the supply pipethrough the pierced hole in the rear grommet.4. Mark the fireplace front surround through the four holes in the side flanges of thehotbox (See point 1 and figure 17).5. Remove the hotbox. Drill four holes in the fireplace front surround at the markedpositions using a suitably sized masonry drill for the fibre plugs supplied.6. Insert a fibre plug into each hole.7. Place the hotbox back in position in the fireplace.8. Fit a woodscrew through each hole in the hotbox flanges and tighten to seal thebox to the fireplace surround.9.2 Method 2 - Cable retention and floor fixing.1. Make sure that the relevant areas at the fireplace back and floor are sound enoughto take the eyebolts and screws. If these areas have deteriorated due to prolongeduse they should be made sound with suitable cement.2. Drill four holes in the rear wall of the fireplace for the eyebolt plugs. The holesshould be drilled within the range of positions shown in figure 18 using a suitablysized masonry drill for the fibre plugs supplied. The holes should be equidistant eachside of the centre line of the fireplace to ensure that the appliance finishes centrally inthe opening when tension is applied to the cables.3. Insert a fibre plug into each hole. Use the fibre plugs supplied with this appliance -Never use plastic plugs instead of the fibre plugs supplied. Screw the eyeboltsinto the plugs. Make sure that the bolts are secure.4. Place the hotbox unit close to the fireplace but allow sufficient access into thefireplace opening so that the cables can be threaded through the eyebolts andreturned through the back of the hotbox.
