Depend ing on the drivingenv ironment, the vehicle switches betweentwo-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, togive the vehicle more traction and stab ilitywhen necessary.If the front wheels begin to slip, the rearwheels will autom atically begin to driv e thevehic le as required.More torque is transferred to the wheelsthat have the m ost traction, so the v ehiclehas optimum grip a t all times.There may be a slig ht engagement noiseduring hard use.As well as ena bling the v ehicle to be drivenoff-road , this system also enables thevehic le to be driven on norm al roadswithout incurring excessive tyre a nddrivetrain wear or causing poor control.All Wheel Dri ve control ind icatorWhen the ignition is switched on,control indicator B illuminates for approx.4 seconds. The system is ready forop eration when the control indicatorextinguishes.If the control indicator flashes d uringdriving, All Wheel Drive is temporarilydisab led.If it fla shes briefly then ex ting uishes, this isnormal and does not indicate a fault.If the control indicator flashescontinuously, there is a fault in the sy stem.Consult a work shop as soon as possible.O n-road dr ivingThe increased traction of All Wheel Drivevehicles offers greater driving control inadv erse road cond itions, particularlyhea vy snow and ice. However, All WheelDrive vehicles are not " skid-p roof" and donot decrease stopping distances.All Wheel Drive vehicles hav e a hig hercentre of gravity than conv entiona lvehicles.
