40 Radio■ As long as a given DAB receivercan pick up the signal sent out by abroadcasting station (even if thesignal is very weak), soundreproduction is ensured.■ There is no fading (weakening ofthe sound) that is typical of AM orFM reception. The DAB signal isreproduced at a constant volume.■ Only CD 400: if the DAB signal istoo weak to be picked up by thereceiver, reception is interruptedcompletely. This incident can beavoided by activating Autoensemble linking and/or Autolinking DAB-FM in the DAB settingsmenu.■ Interference caused by stationsthat are on nearby frequencies (aphenomenon that is typical of AMand FM reception) does not occurin connection with DAB.■ If the DAB signal is reflected bynatural obstacles or buildings, thereception quality of DAB isimproved, whereas AM or FMreception is considerably impairedin such cases.■ The reception of DAB+ stations ispresently not supported by the DABreceiver.Configuring DABNavi 600 / Navi 900Press the CONFIG button.Select Radio settings and then DABsettings.The following options are available inthe configuration menu:■ Dynamic audio adaption: with thisfunction activated, the dynamicrange of the DAB signal is reduced.That means the level of the loudsounds is reduced, but not the levelof the quiet sounds. Therefore thevolume of the Infotainment systemcan be raised to a point where thequiet sounds are audible, withoutthe loud sounds being too loud.■ Frequency band: after selection ofthis option the user can definewhich DAB wavebands are to bereceived by the Infotainmentsystem.
