52 For your safetyVEGABAR 82 • 4 … 20 mA45027-EN-1705222 For your safety2.1 Authorised personnelAll operations described in this operating instructions manual mustbe carried out only by trained specialist personnel authorised by theplant operator.During work on and with the device the required personal protectiveequipment must always be worn.2.2 Appropriate useThe VEGABAR 82 is a pressure transmitter for process pressure andhydrostatic level measurement.You can find detailed information about the area of application inchapter "Product description".Operational reliability is ensured only if the instrument is properlyused according to the specifications in the operating instructionsmanual as well as possible supplementary instructions.2.3 Warning about incorrect useInappropriate or incorrect use of this product can give rise to applica-tion-specific hazards, e.g. vessel overfill through incorrect mountingor adjustment. Thus damage to property, to persons or environmentalcontamination can be caused. Also the protective characteristics ofthe instrument can be influenced.2.4 General safety instructionsThis is a state-of-the-art instrument complying with all prevailingregulations and directives. The instrument must only be operated in atechnically flawless and reliable condition. The operator is responsi-ble for the trouble-free operation of the instrument. When measuringaggressive or corrosive media where a malfunction of the instrumentcan cause a danger, the operator has to convince himself on the cor-rect function of the instrument by taking suitable measures.During the entire duration of use, the user is obliged to determine thecompliance of the necessary occupational safety measures with thecurrent valid rules and regulations and also take note of new regula-tions.The safety instructions in this operating instructions manual, the na-tional installation standards as well as the valid safety regulations andaccident prevention rules must be observed by the user.For safety and warranty reasons, any invasive work on the devicebeyond that described in the operating instructions manual may becarried out only by personnel authorised by the manufacturer. Arbi-trary conversions or modifications are explicitly forbidden. For safetyreasons, only the accessory specified by the manufacturer must beused.
