4 Mounting4.1 General instructionsWith instruments with threaded process fitting, suitable tools must beapplied for tightening the hexagon.Warning:The housing must not be used to screw the instrument in! Applyingtightening force can damage internal parts of the housing.Use the recommended cables (see chapter "Connecting to powersupply") and tighten the cable gland. You can give your instrument additional protection against moisturepenetration by leading the connection cable downward in front of thecable entry. Rain and condensation water can thus drain off. Thisapplies mainly to outdoor mounting as well as installation in areaswhere high humidity is expected (e.g. through cleaning processes) oron cooled or heated vessels.Make sure that all parts of the instrument exposed to the process, inparticular the active measuring component, process seal and processfitting, are suitable for the existing process conditions. These includeabove all the process pressure, process temperature as well as thechemical properties of the medium. You can find the specifications in chapter "Technical data" and on thetype label.4.2 Collar or adapter flangeFor mounting the instrument on a socket, a combi compression flangefor DN 80 (ASME 3" or JIS 80) is also available for retro fitting.Optionally, the instrument can be also equipped with an adapter flangefrom DN 100 (ASME 4" or JIS 100).With the housing versions plastic, aluminium single chamber andstainless steel, the collar flange can be placed directly over thehousing. With the aluminium double chamber housing, retroactivemounting in this way is not possible - the mounting type must bespecified with the order. You can find drawings of these mounting options in chapter"Dimensions".Screwing inMoistureSuitability for the pro-cess conditions12 VEGAPULS 67 • 4 … 20 mA/HART - two-wire4 Mounting36531-EN-120301
