8SAFETY PRECAUTIONS PS 3.211.2 ELECTRIC SAFETYElectric models must be earthed. In the eventof an electrical short circuit, earthing reducesthe risk of electric shock by providing an escapewire for the electric current. This product isequipped with a cord having an earthing wirewith an appropriate earthing plug. Connectionto the mains only through a special feed point,e.g. through an error protection insallation withINF < 30 mA.DANGER — Work or repairs at theelectrical equipment may only becarried out by a skilled electrician. No liability is assumed for incorrectinstallation. Switch the unit off. Before all repair work, unplug thepower plug from the outlet.Danger of short-circuits caused by wateringressing into the electrical equipment. Neverspray down the unit with high-pressure or high-pressure steam cleaners.WORK OR REPAIRS AT THE ELECTRICALEQUIPMENT:These may only be carried out by a skilledelectrician. No liability is assumed for incorrectinstallation.1.3 ELECTROSTATIC CHARGING(FORMATION OF SPARKS ORFLAMES)Electrostatic charging of the unit mayoccur during spraying due to the flowspeed of the coating material. Thesecan cause sparks and flames upondischarge. The unit must thereforealways be earthed via the electricalsystem. The unit must be connectedto an appropriately-grounded safetyoutlet. An electrostatic charging of spray guns and thehigh-pressure hose is discharged through thehigh-pressure hose. For this reason the electricresistance between the connections of the high-pressure hose must be equal to or lower than 1MΩ.
