Safety Information GP 3800A8 wc_si000233gb.fm1.2 Machine Description and Intended UseThis machine is a portable electric power source. The WackerNeuson Portable Generator consists of a tubular steel framesurrounding a fuel tank, a gasoline engine, a control panel, and anelectric alternator. The control panel includes controls andreceptacles. As the engine runs, the generator converts mechanicalenergy into electric power. The operator connects loads to the electricpower receptacles. This machine is intended for the purpose of supplying electrical powerto connected loads. Refer to the product specifications for the outputvoltage and frequency of this generator, and the maximum outputpower limit of this generator. This machine has been designed and built strictly for the intended usedescribed above. Using the machine for any other purpose couldpermanently damage the machine or seriously injure the operator orother persons in the area. Machine damage caused by misuse is notcovered under warranty. The following are some examples of misuse:Connecting a load that has voltage and frequency requirements thatare incompatible with the generator outputOverloading the generator with a load that draws excessive powerduring either continuous running or start-upOperating the generator in a manner that is inconsistent with allfederal, state and local codes and regulationsUsing the machine as a ladder, support, or work surfaceUsing the machine to carry or transport passengers or equipmentOperating the machine outside of factory specificationsOperating the machine in a manner inconsistent with all warningsfound on the machine and in the Operator’s ManualThis machine has been designed and built in accordance with thelatest global safety standards. It has been carefully engineered toeliminate hazards as far as practicable and to increase operatorsafety through protective guards and labeling. However, some risksmay remain even after protective measures have been taken. Theyare called residual risks. On this machine, they may include exposureto:Heat, noise, exhaust, and carbon monoxide from the engineFire hazards from improper refueling techniquesFuel and its fumesElectric shock and arc flash
