Operation GV 3800A30 wc_tx001890gb.fm4.11 Testing the Ground-Fault Interrupt (GFI)OverviewThe GFI should be tested for proper operation every time thegenerator is used.In the normal operating state, the green “POWER” LED is illuminatedand the circuit breaker is in the “ON” position.ProcedureFollow the procedure below to test the GFI.4.11.1 Press “TEST” button (g).The green LED will go out, and the red“FAULT” LED should illuminate. The circuit breaker switch (d) shouldmove to the “OFF” position.4.11.2 If the red LED or breaker does not trip or change state, do not use themachine. Consult an electrician for assistance.4.11.3 Press “RESET” button (h). The red LED should go out, and the greenLED should illuminate.4.11.4 Manually move the circuit breaker switch to the “ON” position torestore circuit power.4.12 Main Circuit BreakerThe generator is protected by a two-pole, 16-Amp per pole, maincircuit breaker (d) located on the control panel.The main circuit breaker protects the generator from severe overloadsor short circuits. If the main circuit breaker opens, turn the engine offimmediately and determine the cause before restarting. Check theappliances and tools attached to the generator for defects and makesure their power requirements do not exceed the power rating of thegenerator or the current limit of the receptacles.
