Important: BEFORE USING YOUR SMART AC POWER INVERTER READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS OWNER'SGUIDE. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS-THIS OWNER'S GUIDE CONTAINS IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.WARNING! Shock hazard The Smart AC Power Inverter generates the same AC power as a normalhousehold wall outlet.Do not open (no user-servicable parts inside).Do not insert foreign objects into the outlet.Do not expose to water, rain, or snow.Do not connect to power utility AC distribution wiring.Failure to follow the above may result in personal injury or damage to the inverter.CAUTIONREFER TO THE BATTERY MANUFACTURER'S SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROPER BATTERYINSTALLATION AND OPERATION.NEUTRAL FLOATING-do not connect to the inverter any AC products whose neutral conductor isconnected to the ground.Do not expose to temperatures over 40°C (104°F).Your Smart AC Power Inverter converts 12 V DC battery power to 110 V AChousehold electrical power so you can operate products from your car, truck, boat, SUV or RV.WARNING! Heated surface The inverter housing may become uncomfortably warm, reaching 65°C(150°F) under extended high power operation. During operation, keep the inverter from materials that maybe affected by high temperatures.OperationPlug the inverter into your vehicle's lighter socket. If the socket is too large, adjust the negativeconnectors using the slide control to ensure a snug fit. The (green) LED will light up.Plug an AC product into the three prong AC receptacle and turn it on. Ensure your product draws110 watts or less of continuous AC power. To avoid discharging the battery, always remove theinverter from the lighter socket when not in use.TroubleshootingProblem: AC product does not operate; green light is not illuminatedAC product connected is rated at morethan 110 watts; overload shutdown occurs.High starting surge has caused overloadshutdown even though AC productconnected is rated at less than 300 watts.Lighter socket or 12 volt outlet may requireignition to be switched on.Poor contact with lighter socket or 12 voltoutlet.Battery is discharged.Fuse blown by heavy load.Use product with a power rating of lessthan 110 watts.Product exceeds inverter's surge capability.Use a product with starting surge power ofless than 300 watts.Turn ignition key to accessory position.Press inverter firmly into the lighter socket.Make sure the socket is clean.Recharge battery.Replace the 15 A slow blow fuse byunscrewing the fitting in the positiveconnector.Problem: Buzzing sound in audio systemsInexpensive stereo systems have an inadequate internal power supply filtering which causes abuzzing sound. A system with a high quality filter is the only solution.Probable cause Suggested remedySlide ControlNegative Connector1.2.Positive ConnectorGreen Power LEDThree-prong AC ReceptacleFor additional technical support please e-mail customerservice@wagan.com
