Operating Instructions33Suspension Seat (MTL and MTLEFI)A fully adjustable suspension seat is standard onModels MTL and MTLEFI. This seat is adjustablefor back pitch, weight, lumbar support and armrestinclination. Proper adjustment for each operator isessential to safe operation and operator comfort.Read operating instructions in full before you usethe seat.NOTE: Driver seats that have been adjusted incor-rectly have a smaller swinging range. To preventdamage to the driver’s back and to the seat, the seatmust be adjusted for the driver’s weight before useand before every change of driver. To prevent in-jury, no objects should be placed within theswinging range of the driver seat.To prevent injury, no objects should be placedwithin the moving area of the driver seat.Adjustments must not be made while driving.If you make any changes to the standard seat (forexample fitting parts which are not original GRAM-MER parts) it may no longer meet the safety stan-dards to which it is tested. Functions may beimpaired, threatening your safety. For this reason,any change in design of the seat must be ap-proved by GRAMMER.IMPORTANT: Fasteners must be checked regu-larly for tightness. If the seat wobbles there maybe loose bolts or other faults.If you note that the seat does not function correctly(for example a defective seat suspension; impropercurving of the lumbar support or damaged bellows),contact your Walker Dealer immediately to ar-range for repairs to be carried out. If you fail to doso, your health may be affected and the risk of ac-cident increased.IMPORTANT: Before the tractor is used, the safetyswitch must be checked for proper function. If amalfunction is detected the tractor must not be driv-en, it should be repaired or replaced before operat-ing the mower.If you take off the weight from the seat while driving,this will cause the machine to stop.IMPORTANT: Do not indent the bellows while thereis load on the driver’s seat.For armrest inclination adjustment, the inclina-tion of the armrests can be modified by turning theadjustment knob. Refer to Figure 1.Turning the knob to the right lifts the armrest in front,turning it to the left, lowers it in front.For weight adjustment, the weight of the respec-tive driver must be set while sitting on the seat. Foldout the weight adjustment handle completely, hold itat the front and move it upwards or downwards (10movements from minimum to maximum).Before every new movement, bring the handle backto the starting position (audible locking sound). Thedriver’s weight has been set correctly, when the ar-row is in the middle of the viewing window. Refer toFigure 2.IMPORTANT: To prevent damage to the health andmaterial, the setting for the driver’s weight must bechecked and adjusted as necessary before themower is driven.When the minimum/maximum has been reached,you can notice an empty movement in the handle.When you have set the weight, fold the handle com-pletely into the locking.CAUTIONTo eliminate any risk of accident, the set-tings must be checked to ensure they arecorrectly engaged before the mower isdriven.CAUTIONExcept for the driver’s weight during nor-mal use, no loads must be placed onseats with a built-in switch detecting seatoccupation, as the vehicle may otherwisestart to move by itself.
