Pro Tube IX27Two switches LOW BOOST and HIGH BOOSTto pre-adjust the basic sound characteristics.Ten faders35/70/140/210/420/730/1.2k/2.5k/5k/10k Hzto amplify/soften the respective frequencyband by +/-12 dB.You should generally adjust the graphic EQ toapproximately 0 dB. This means boosts and cutsshould be effected with moderation. When adjusting the faders mostly within thepositive area (1) the OL LED of the mastersection might illuminate, which means youenter the overload range before the mastercontrol. In this case reduce OUTPUT fromchannel 2. If the LIMITER is activated andthreshold appears too high, readjust the EQcurve to lower levels (2). Reducing GAINwould result in a worse S/N ratio and caneventually not be recommended. Should youfind the threshold is too low, i.e. more intensecompression is desired, shift the EQ curvefurther to the positive area.CHANNEL 2 - SOLID STATE+12+9+6+30dB-3-6-9-12.................................................................................+12+9+6+30dB-3-6-9-122 2LOWBOOSTC H A N N E L 2 - S O L I D S T A T EHIGHBOOST35 70 140 210 420 730 1,2k 2,5k 5k 10k+12+9+6+30dB-3-6-9-12.................................................................................+12+9+6+30dB-3-6-9-122 2LOWBOOSTC H A N N E L 2 - S O L I D S T A T EHIGHBOOST35 70 140 210 420 730 1,2k 2,5k 5k 10k1 21. Make sure that loudspeakers capable of sustainingthe load of a bass signal are connected to theSPEAKER OUT sockets. The speaker cablesshould meet a cross-section of at least 2 x 1.5 mm.2. Check that the mains supply has been pluggedin and that all external (effects) units possiblyused are correctly connected and operational.3. Select the mode in which you wish to operate(Fullrange/BiAmp, Mono/Stereo).4. Set the MASTER control to zero.5. Plug your bass guitar into the amplifier'sINPUT with a shielded line-cable.6. Press the POWER switch to turn the device on.7. Switch MUTE off and the red LED willextinguish. (Should the CH. SELECT switchbe set to channel 1, it will take a few secondsbefore a signal can be processed, as the tubesmust be heated first.)8. Turn all volume controls of your bass guitar onto their maximum.9. Adjust the GAIN control until the (loudly)played bass signal illuminates the OK LED.10. Set both OUTPUT controls to theirpositions 8.11. Set the MASTER control to the volume youwish to play at.12. Adjust the controls and switches of bothchannels according to your sound conceptions. If it appears necessary, reduce OUTPUT againwith the appropriate controls. The OL LEDmight actually flash only occasionally, but itshould not remain permanently lit.13. Balance the levels from one channel to anotherwith the OUTPUT controls and set the EFF.MIX of the parallel stereo loop for bothchannels to regulate the amount of effectswithin the signal path.14. If necessary readjust balances on therear panel.IMPORTANT:Make sure that gain of the elected louder channelis correctly determined and occasionallyilluminates the OL LED, as either full power canactually not be used (level set too low), orundesired distortions might appear (level set toohigh).GETTING STARTED
