1Hard DriveInstallation InstructionsFirebox X® Core™ and Firebox® SSL CoreInstalling the Hard DriveRead all instructions before beginning the installation procedure. If you purchased the hard drive as an upgradeoption, keep a copy of your reseller invoice for the hard drive upgrade. You must supply this proof of purchase toWatchGuard with any warranty claims.1 Turn off the Firebox.CAUTIONThe hard drive is not a hot swap device. Failure to turn the Firebox off before installing the hard drive can result in damageto the hard drive.2 On the front right side of the Firebox, look for the door covering the hard drive slot.3 Lift the door and find the two release tabs for the hard drive tray.System RequirementHardware The hard drive will only operate on a Firebox®X Core™ model X700, X1000,X2500, or Firebox®SSL Core. The hard drive upgrade will not operate on aFirebox X500. To use the hard drive on a Firebox X500, you must first purchasea Firebox model upgrade.Appliance Software The Firebox® must have an approved version of appliance software installed.For Firebox®SSL Core, the appliance software is included on the hard drive. Tomake sure your Firebox has the most current approved version of appliancesoftware, refer to http://www.watchguard.com/help/docs/firebox_hdd_install.asp.Environment The hard drive is not a hot swap device. The Firebox®must be turned off duringthe procedure.
