67 SERIES 700A11 INSTALLATION MANUALCAUTION: Do not use rods smaller than 3/8-inchdiameter since they may not be strong enoughto support the unit. The rods must be securelyanchored to the ceiling.General Installation Information cont.Insulate supplyplenum and useat least one 90elbow toreduce noiseElectricalDisconnectFlexible DuctCollarThreaded RodsLine VoltageBall ValvesHoseKitsTo LinePowerToThermostatHangingBrackets(Included)Building Water LoopOFigure 2: Horizontal Unit MountingInstalling Horizontal UnitsRemove and discard the compressor hold down shippingbolt located at the front of the compressor mountingbracket prior to setting the unit in place. Horizontal unitsare available with side or end discharge. Horizontal unitsare normally suspended from a ceiling by four or six 3/8 in.diameter threaded rods. The rods are usually attached tothe unit by hanger bracket kits furnished with each unit.Lay out the threaded rods per the dimensions in Figure3. Assemble the hangers to the unit as shown. Securelytighten the brackets to the unit using the weld nuts locatedon the underside of the bottom panel. When attaching thehanger rods to the bracket, a double nut is required sincevibration could loosen a single nut. To allow filter access, one bracket on the filter side should be installed 180° fromthe position shown in Figure 3. The unit should be pitchedapproximately 1/4-inch towards the drain in both directionsto facilitate the removal of condensate. Use only the boltsprovided in the kit to attach hanger brackets. The use oflonger bolts could damage internal parts. Some residential applications require the installation ofhorizontal units on an attic floor. In this case, the unitshould be set in a full size secondary drain pan on top of avibration absorbing pad. The secondary drain pan preventspossible condensate overflow or water leakage damage tothe ceiling. The secondary drain pan is usually placed on aplywood base isolated from the ceiling joists by additionallayers of vibration absorbing material.SPECIAL NOTE: The VS drive is limited to a maximum of125°F ambient temperature. For this reason the 7 Seriesis not approved for attic installations. The compressorcompartment temperature is also monitored by theAurora. This ‘compressor ambient’ temperature is availableon the AID Tool for reading. The control will de-rate thecompressor when ambient air is above 125°F. Installing thisproduct in an attic could result in loss of warranty.LeftRight3/8" ThreadedRod (by others)Hex Nuts (2)(by others)WasherVibrationIsolatorBolt andLock WasherCF AAir CoilDBAir Coil12341243Hanger DimensionsModel Hanger Kit PartNumberUnit Hanger DimensionsA B C D036 in. 99S500A03 77.4 27.8 24.1 29.3cm. 196.6 70.6 61.2 74.4048 in. 99S500A03 77.4 27.8 24.1 29.3cm. 196.6 70.6 61.2 74.4060 in. 99S500A03 82.4 27.8 24.1 29.3cm. 209.3 70.6 61.2 74.46/1/12Weight DistributionModelVerticalShippingWeightHorizontalShippingWeightHorizontal Weight DistributionFront Back1 2 3 4036 352 387 135 83 86 83048 361 396 145 84 84 83060 385 415 120 120 45 130Weights are listed in lbs.
