24 25w.aterpDuring use you cantemporarily stop water flowby pressing the pause buttonon the handle.NOTE: Motor will continueto run.Recommended TechniqueFor best results,start with back teethand work toward thefront teeth. Direct thestream at a 90-degree angle to your gumline withtip in mouth. Glide tip along gumline and pausebriefly between teeth. Continue until you havecleaned the inside and outside of both the upperand lower teeth. Lean over sink.When FinishedTurn the unit off. Empty any liquid left in thereservoir.Note: If you used mouthwash or other solutionbesides water, see “Using Mouthwash and OtherSolutions” section.Prime Unit (First Time Use Only)Set pressure control dialon base to high, point thehandle and tip into sink.Turn unit ON until waterflows from the tip, turnunit OFF.Adjusting the Pressure SettingTurn the pressure controldial on the base of theunit to the lowest setting(pressure setting No.1) forfirst-time use. Graduallyincrease pressure overtime to the setting you prefer – or as instructed byyour dental professional.Using the Water FlosserAlways place the tip in your mouth beforeturning the water ON. Lean over sinkand slightly close lips enough to preventsplashing while still allowing water to flowfrom mouth into the sink.Turn power ON. When finished,turn power OFF.LowPauseFlosser on so water flows through the tip. Usinga light pressure (bristles should not bend)massage the brush back and forth with very shortstrokes – much like you would with a manualtoothbrush.Plaque Seeker® TipTo use the PlaqueSeeker® Tip, placethe tip close to theteeth so that thebristles are gently touching the teeth. Gently glidetip along gumline, pausing briefly between teeth togently brush and allow the water to flow betweenthe teeth.Using Mouthwash andOther SolutionsYour Waterpik® Water Flosser can be used todeliver mouthwash and antibacterial solutions.After using any special solution, rinse unit toprevent clogging by partially filling reservoir withwarm water and running unit with tip pointed intosink until unit is empty.CleaningBefore cleaning, unplug from the electrical outlet.Clean the product when necessary by using a softcloth and mild non-abrasive cleanser.The water reservoir is removable for easy cleaningand is top rack dishwasher safe.NOTE: Remove reservoir valve before placingreservoir in dishwasher.CLEANING AND TROUBLESHOOTING YOUR WATERPIK ® WATER FLOSSERRemove ReplaceTIP USAGEPik Pocket™ TipThe Pik Pocket™ Tip isspecifically designed todeliver water or anti-bacterialsolutions deep intoperiodontal pockets.To use the Pik Pocket™Tip, set the unit tothe lowest pressure setting. Place the softtip against a tooth at a 45-degree angle and gentlyplace the tip under the gumline, into the pocket.Turn the unit on and continue tracing alongthe gumline.Tongue Cleaner TipTo use the tongue cleanertip, set to lowest pressuresetting, place tip in thecenter/middle of yourtongue about half way backand start the Water Flosser.Pull forward with light pressure. Increase pressureas you prefer.Orthodontic TipTo use the OrthodonticTip, gently glide tipalong gumline, pausingbriefly to lightly brusharea between teeth and all around orthodonticbracket, before proceeding to the next tooth.Toothbrush TipPlace thetoothbrush tip inmouth with thebrush head on thetooth at the gum line.
