Enforce Unique Names – Selecting this option allowsthe customer to create unique names for each stock.Duplicate stock names are not permitted when this isenabled. Allow Duplicate Names – Selecting this option allowsthe customer to create multiple stocks using the samename. This is useful when the paper type the customeris using is differentiated by size only. When enabled thefollowing two options become available on the GUI: Auto Generate Name Extension – Selecting thisoption automatically appends an exclamationcharacter followed by a number to each duplicatestock name entry in the database. (I.e.,Hammermill!1, Hammermill!2). Manually Generate Name Extension – Selectingthis option requires the customer to create a nameextension for a duplicate stock entry. Stock Comments icon:This is a new attribute for all printers. Stock Comments aredisplayed as "tool tips" when the mouse pointer hovers overthe comment icon ( ). A comment icon appears only ifcomment text has been entered for a given stock. Thecomments are entered in the Stock Properties or New Stockdialogs.Unspecified Stock Behavior:In prior releases of DocuSP, the customer was forced to define atray containing “Unspecified” stock. The typical customer wouldsend files into the system without a "Stock Name" becausePostScript and PCL do not have a concept of "Stock Name".Instead, it uses the stock attributes Size, Type and Color. The“Unspecified” stock name had to be defined.In the DocuSP 3.6 release, the Stock Name does not needdefinition.
