POSTSCRIPTXEROX DOCUPRINT NPS GUIDE TO USING PAGE DESCRIPTION LANGUAGES 2-17DocuPrint NPS implementation of PostScript Level 2DocuPrint NPS implements the PostScript Level 2 operators; itconforms to the PostScript Language as defined in the PostScriptLanguage reference manuals.DocuPrint does not support the following device-specific operators:banddevice, framedevice, and renderbands (device setup andoutput operators). These operators are device-specific.• In PostScript Level 2, the LZWEncode, CCITTFaxEncode, andDCTEncode filter names are not supported with the filteroperator.Note: The DCTDecode filter does not work correctly for all fullcolor images.• Unlike the Adobe implementation of PS Level 2, thesetfileposition operator is permitted on %stdin when thestandard input comes from a file.• The charpath operator is not supported with the PostScriptLevel 1 interpreter when used on type 3 fonts, However, thisoperator is supported with PostScript Level 2.Due to support of mixed paper sizes, PostScript files that use theclippath pathbbox operators to determine the imageable area of thepage will not image shift correctly. Image shifting will not occur byusing the AdjustX and AdjustY system options nor the image shiftdocument attributes: HorizontalImageShift,HorizontalImageShiftforBack, VerticalImageShift,VerticalImageShiftforBack, and the ExceptionPage image shift.Simulated mixed plexFor releases prior to 7.x, simulated mixed plex is supported using thestandard PostScript Level 2 /Duplex pagedevice key. The /Duplexkey is supported only with the PostScript Level 2 interpreter when theplex attribute value is “duplex.” The /Tumble key is not supported. The /Duplex key is not supported when used in a job with theMultiSet-specific pagedevice keys: /EndOfSet, /EndOfRun, and/Staple, which are also capable of simulating mixed plex. For more information on mixed plex jobs, see the chapter “Mixed plexapplications” in the Guide to Managing Print Jobs.
