Printer SetupChapter 1: Getting Started v 1-17Using the Parallel PortThe parallel port requires a Centronics parallel interfacecable that supports bidirectional communications (IEEEstandard 1284). Ask your dealer for assistance if you needhelp selecting the right cable.To connect the printer to the computer, follow the stepsbelow:1 Make sure that both the printer and computer are turnedoff.2 Plug the cable into the connector on the back of theprinter.3 Push the metal clips down to fit inside the notches on thecable plug.4 Connect the other end of the cable to the parallel port onyour computer.
