Common ProblemsXerox® Phaser® 3052/3260User Guide145Common PostScript ProblemsThe following situations are PS language specific and may occur when several printer languages areused.Horizontal stripes If horizontally aligned black lines, stripes, streaks or smears appear:• The toner cartridge may not be installed properly. Remove the cartridge and reinsertit.• The toner cartridge may be defective. Remove the toner cartridge and install a newone. (See Replacing the Toner Cartridge.)• If the problem persists, the machine may require repair. Contact a servicerepresentative.An unknown imagerepetitivelyappears on a fewsheets, or loosetoner, light print, orcontaminationoccurs.• Your machine is probably being used at an altitude of 1,500 m (4,921 ft) or above.The high altitude may affect the print quality, such as loose toner or light imaging.Change to the correct altitude setting for your machine. (See System Setup.)Problem Possible Cause SolutionPostScript file cannot be printed. The PostScript driver may not beinstalled correctly.• Install the PostScript driver.(See Install Printer Software.)• Print a configuration page andverify that the PS version isavailable for printing.• If the problem persists, contacta service representative.Limit Check Error report prints. The print job was too complex. • You might need to reduce thecomplexity of the page.A PostScript error page prints. The print job may not bePostScript.• Make sure that the print job isa PostScript job.
