Solving Problems6.2Solving General Printing ProblemsFor problems with the operation of your printer, refer to thetable for suggested solutions.Problem Possible Cause SolutionThe printerdoes notprint.The printer is notreceiving power.Check the power cord connections.Check the power switch and thepower source.The printer is notselected as thedefault printer.Select Xerox Phaser 6110Series as your default printer.Check the printer forthe following:After locating the problem, clear it.If a printer system error occurs,contact your service representative.• The printer cover isnot closed.• Close the printer cover.• Paper is jammed. • Clear the paper jam. See 6.3.• No paper is loaded. • Load paper. See 2.3.• A toner cartridge isnot installed.• Install the toner cartridge. See5.3.The printer may be inmanual feed modeand out of paper.Check the message on the StatusMonitor program window, add paperto the tray and press thebutton on the control panel.The connection cablebetween thecomputer and theprinter is notconnected properly.Disconnect the printer cable andreconnect it.The connection cablebetween thecomputer and theprinter is defective.If possible, attach the cable toanother computer that is workingproperly and try to print adocument. You can also try using adifferent printer cable.The port setting isincorrect.Check the Windows printer settingto make sure that the print job issent to the correct port. Right-clickthe Xerox Phaser 6110 Seriesprinter icon, choose Properties,click the Details tab, and thenchoose the Spool Settings button.Select the desired spool setting.Half thepage isblank.The page orientationsetting may beincorrect.Change the page orientation in yourapplication.
