The built-in non-defeat-able LIMITER helps to prevent distortion. It operates con-tinuously and has minimal effect on sound quality, howev-er its operation does indicate that the C120P is at maxi-mum volume and may be on the verge of distortion ifthe Orange LED is on more of the time than simplyflashing on peaks.Controls and Connections(from the top)GAIN Control - turn this control clockwise toincrease the volume, or counterclockwise toreduce volume. If the orange "clip/limit" LED onthe front of the enclosure illuminates, reducingthe GAIN setting will decrease its activity.BASS Control - adjust this control clockwiseor counter-clockwise to increase or decreasethe emphasis in the low frequency region. Acenter setting is neutral.Tip: if the orange "clip/limit" LED is illuminatingovertly at comparatively low sound levels, itmay be a result of the BASS being turned uptoo far. Reducing the BASS setting will help tocompensate. This also applies to the TREBLEcontrol.TREBLE Control - adjust this control clockwise orcounter-clockwise to increase or decrease high fre-quency emphasis. A center setting is neutral. (SeeBASS control.)¼-Inch BALANCED LINE Input - this is for monophon-ic, Tip-Ring-Sleeve (balanced), line-level signals and isnot internally connected to the STEREO LINK OUTPUT.Its main purpose is to provide the mixing technician withthe ability to isolate mixer outputs, or patches, through adedicated monitor.Balancing code is; Tip= (+) 0° phase, Ring= (-)180° phase, and Sleeve=Ground.Tip: if you want to add-on a second C120P, con-nect your signal source via the 1/8-inch CDSTEREO LINE IN jack, not the ¼-inch BALANCEDLINE input. Now you can interconnect the secondC120P as stated below.)1/8-inch STEREO LINK OUTPUT Jack - use a 1/8-inchstereo cable here to connect an additional C120P. Makesure the STEREO/MONO button is in the STEREO posi-tion (up) otherwise the additional speaker will not work.MONO/STEREO Pushbutton - regulates the signal com-ing in through the 1/8-inch CD/STEREO LINE IN jack.Use the STEREO setting when the audio signal is stereoand/or interconnecting an additional C120P. Use theMONO setting when no other C120P is linked and youwant Left and Right blended.Tip: if you are adding another C120P via theSTEREO LINK OUTPUT jack, be sure theMONO/STEREO pushbutton is in the STEREOposition so that the additional speaker will work1/8-inch CD/STEREO LINE IN Jack - this iswhere you connect your stereotuner/amplifier, CD player or tape deck. When used in the recording studio, youmay run a mono line from the mixer tothis input rather than the ¼-inch BAL-ANCED LINE IN jack.AdditionalYour C120P can be painted. We suggestthat you remove the front grill and maskoff the speakers and rear connector panel toavoid getting paint on them. If you want to paintthe C120P without removing the grill, a small amount ofoverspray will not hurt the components. However, too muchpaint will destroy your speakers permanently.MADE IN CHINAFABRIQUÉ EN CHINEYORKVILLE SOUNDTORONTO, CANADABALANCED LINE INCD/STEREOLINE IN (from LINK of SOURCE C120P)SECOND C120PFOR MINI-JACKS (1/8-inch)WHEN LINKING USE ONLY STEREO CABLES |
