Setting 2 – 2 ms DelayHigh pass frequency response (100 Hz – 20kHz). Use when the delay of the subwooferis 2 ms. The UCS1P and UCS1 use this setting.A 2ms delay is roughly the same as pushingthe U15P back by roughly 27 inches (68 cm).Setting 3 – 3 ms DelayHigh pass frequency response (100 Hz – 20kHz). Use when the delay of the subwooferis 3 ms. The LS800P, LS808, LS1004 and TX9Suse this setting. A 3 ms delay is roughly thesame as pushing the U15P back by roughly40.5 inches (102 cm).Setting 4 – 8ms DelayHigh pass frequency response (100 Hz – 20kHz). Use when the delay of the subwooferis 8ms. The LS1208 uses this setting. An 8 msdelay is roughly the same as pushing theU15P back by roughly 107 inches (273cm).3. LINK JacksThe Link jacks are set up to make it easy tohook up the Unity™ U15P to any audio sys-tem with a minimum of hassles. All of the Linkjacks are connected in parallel, so you canuse any of them to daisy-chain other U15Psor powered subwoofers. For normal operationconnect the Unity™ U15P just like an ordinarypowered speaker. The Unity™ U15P may be plugged in be-fore or after other enclosures, such as pow-ered subwoofers. The U15P does not alterthe signal to the daisy-chained enclosuresand will not draw any power from the hostmixer/processor driving them. Also, note thatan external crossover is not necessary whenusing the Unity™ U15P.As well as accommodating full rangeenclosures, the Link jacks allow many U15Psto be connected in a string (parallel). There isno practical limit to the number of U15Ps thatmay be connected together.4. ProtectionThe U15P has circuitry to prevent clipping, over current from the power amplifier andover excursion of the speaker. At high levels, the limiter will limit the gain of the Unity™U15P and hence, if the user attempts to setthe level control at a higher level than origi-nally set; the resulting setting will be incorrect. The level control should be set while operat-ing at low levels (under 10 watts). If the level control is set too high due to set-ting it at high operating levels the input circuitwill clip and the dynamics of the bass will belost. The Red Clip indicator will signify when thisoccurs. This can happen without audible distor-tion since the filters will filter out the distortion.U15PLEVEL12dB00PROGRAMSELECTCLIPLIMIT100Hz HPF, 24dB/Oct2 ms Delay3 ms Delay8 ms Delay123425Hz HPF, 24dB/Oct0 ms DelayFull Range - No Sub100Hz HPF, 24dB/Oct100Hz HPF, 24dB/OctTIME ALIGNMENT SETTINGSLINKA-Z753 / 1v00D S PC O N T R O L L E DINPUT OUTPUTBAL BALLevelFixedTime AlignDelayProgramSelectHiMidLo0, 2, 3, 8 msEnclosureDelay Settings
