17Software Menu AlignmentThe antenna connector should be connected to a dummyload (in cases where transmission is involved) or the signalgenerator (in the case of reception). General alignment con-ditions are as follows unless otherwise noted.AF-gain knob: CenterRF-gain knob: Fully clockwiseSQL: Fully counterclockwiseATT/IPO/CTCSS/DCS: OffOutput power: HighAGC: AutoBreak-in: OnCW Keyer: OffVOX: OffPress and hold in the Multi Function Keys [A], [B],[C] simultaneously and turn on the transceiver while hold-ing them in; the alignment menu will then be activated (youwill hear a “diddle-diddle-diddle” opening tone sequenceto confirm that the alignment menu has been activated).In the alignment procedures, each alignment parameteris selected by rotating the MAIN dial.
