BATTERY REPLACEMENTBe sure to replace the battery as soon as possible when the battery checkindicator lights in order to avoid reduced sound quality.* Be sure to remove the battery if the instrument will not be used for anextended period of time in order to prevent possible damage due tobattery leakage.THE CONTROLSThe output jack is an EIAJ-standard 1/4" phone jack. Be sure to use anappropriate connection cable. The built-in preamplifier is automatically turned on when a plug isinserted into the output jack. When not using the instrument, or whenplaying it without amplification, be sure to remove the plug from theoutput jack so that the preamplifier power is turned off.Always set the VOLUME control to “0” when plugging in or unpluggingthe connection cable. The battery check indicator (BATT.) will light briefly when a plug isinserted or removed from the output jack. This is normal and does notindicate a malfunction.Be sure to remove the battery if the instrument will not be used for anextended period of time in order to prevent possible damage due tobattery leakage.PRECAUTIONSELECTRICACOUSTIC GUITAROwner’s ManualThank you for choosing a Yamaha electric-acoustic guitar. In order to make the most of the advanced features andperformance provided by your guitar, please read thismanual carefully before using the instrument.SPECIFICATIONSSystem SYSTEM-41 (Monaural 2 way)Pickup • Yamaha Custom Bar Sensor (Piezo type)Pickup by LR-Baggs• Condenser Mic (with gooseneck)Pre-amplifier Controls VOL., MIC.VOL., MIC TONE, EQ control for barsensor (piezo) : HIGH, MID, LOW, A.M.F.,PHASE(Phase switch for mic)Output jack Combination end pin/power switchOutput impedance 1 kΩPower supply 9V DC, S-006P (6F22) dry cell batteryBattery life Approx. 120 hoursAccessories • Hexagonal wrench for neck adjustment x1• Sound hole cover for preventing feedback x1• S-006P (6F22) dry cell battery x1NOMENCLATUREBattery HolderControl SectionOutput Jack (with power switch function)PickupBar Sensorq Press the catch on the battery holder inthe direction indicated by the arrow in theillustration in order to unlock it.w Slide out the battery case.CatchBattery casee Remove the old battery from the batterycase, and insert the new battery makingsure that the (+) and (–) terminals of thebattery are positioned as shown in theillustration. (You can see it from the sound hole.) This setting is good for pickingup the sound of the strings being plucked. (See diagram 1)• When the mic head is slightly pointing toward the inside of the body this settingwill pickup a bigger body sound. (See diagram 2)* Try some different mic placements and select the one you prefer.Sound Hole Cover(Accessory)Feedback often occurs when controls are boosted on the electric acoustic guitar tomatch the volume of other instruments when playing in a band.Another source of feedback results from using the MIC. VOL. control to increase theoutput from the internal condenser mic. When the instrument is used under the conditions described above, the Sound HoleCover should be inserted into the sound hole. With the Sound Hole Cover in place, feedback is effectively reduced.USING THE SOUND HOLE COVER(Diagram 1)(Diagram 2)Mic HeadStrings10 mmToward thecenter ofthe bodyLOW : Boosts or cuts the level of the low frequencies.MID : Boosts or cuts the level of the middle frequencies. The AMF control r adjusts the center frequency of the band affected bythis control.HIGH : Boosts or cuts the level of the high frequencies.r AMF ControlSets the center frequency of the band of frequencies affected by the MID equalizercontrol. The range is from 80 Hz to 6 kHz.* This control has no effect when the MID equalizer control is set to its center (“0”) position.t MIC. VOL.Controls the volume of the condenser mic that is located inside the body (to the backof the preamplifier).* Setting the volume level too high may result in feedback causing damage to yoursound system. If feedback occurs, turn down the MIC. VOL. control until the feedbackstops or use a sound hole cover to prevent feedback.y MIC. TONEAdjusts the tone quality of the condenser mic. Rotate the knob to the LOW side toincrease emphasis on low frequencies or, to the HIGH side to increase emphasis onhigh frequencies.u PHASE switch for the MICUsing this switch will change the tone when the mic signal is added to the guitar’stone. It can be effectively used to control feedback depending upon the devices thatare used and knob settings. Use it as you like.q VOL. (Volume) ControlAdjusts the overall output volume level.* Make sure that the VOL. is turned to “0”before connecting or disconnecting.w BATT. (Battery Check) IndicatorWhen battery power is low, the indicator willlight. As battery power becomes furtherdepleted, the indicator will flash. Please replace the battery with a fresh one assoon as possible.e Equalizer Controls for the BarSensor (Piezo)qweruyt |
