2PrecautionsAVOID EXCESSIVE HEAT, HUMIDITY, DUSTAND VIBRATIONWhen choosing a location for your speakers, avoid thefollowing:• Direct sunlight, high temperatures (such as near heat-ers), or excessively low temperatures.• High humidity.• Areas subject to excessive dust accumulation andvibration.• Non-level or unstable surfaces.HOW TO POWER UP YOUR SOUND SYSTEMTo avoid damage to your speakers and other parts ofyour system, when you turn on your system, ALWAYSturn the power amp on last! This will avoid loud, dam-aging pops that will annoy your audience, and blowyour speakers. When you power down, the amplifiershould ALWAYS be turned off first to avoid the sameproblems.MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF BEFOREMAKING OR REMOVING CONNECTIONSAlways turn the power switches of system componentsOFF prior to connecting or disconnecting cables. Fail-ure to do so may result in damage to speakers as well asto connected equipment.DISCONNECT CABLES BEFORE MOVINGTHE SYSTEMTo prevent short circuits or breakage of cables, alwaysdisconnect cables prior to moving system equipment.MATCH CONNECTOR POLARITYWhen using two or more speaker systems, be surematch the polarity (+/–) of the speaker system connec-tors to those at the amplifier. If the polarities do notmatch, the sounds produced by the speakers will inter-fere with each other, making it impossible to achieve awell-balanced sound field.KEEP THIS OWNER’S MANUAL IN A SAFEPLACE FOR FUTURE REFERENCESPEAKER HANDLESThe handles on your speakers are for transportation.The F12M/F25/F28 models are not designed for sus-pension or hanging. Only the F12/F15 models aredesigned for suspension. Please consult a qualifiedengineer for proper hanging techniques.Fly-WareHang correctly according to the instructions on page 4.n To protect your speakersWhen choosing a power amplifier to use with yourspeakers, make sure that its power output matches thespeakers’ power capacity (refer to the “Specifica-tions” on page 5). Even if the amplifier’s power out-put is lower than the speakers’ PGM (program) powercapacity, the speakers may be damaged when clippingof a high input signal occurs.The following may cause damage to speakers:• Feedback caused when using a microphone.• Continuous high sound pressure level produced byelectronic instruments.• Continuous high-power output distorted signals.• Popping noises caused by turning on equipment, orby connecting or disconnecting system componentswhile the amplifier is turned on.This product, when used in combinationwith amplification and/or additionalloudspeakers, may be capable of produc-ing sound levels that could cause perma-nent hearing loss.DO NOT operate at high volume levels orat a level that is uncomfortable. If youexperience any discomfort or ringing inthe ears, or suspect an hearing loss, youshould consult an audiologist.
