5-7EBU00159How to measure tire pressureUse the low-pressure tire gauge.NOTE:The low-pressure tire gauge is included as stan-dard equipment. Make two measurements of thetire pressure and use the second reading. Dustor dirt in the gauge could cause the first readingto be incorrect.4. Use no more than the following pres-sures when seating the tire beads.Front 230 kPa (2.3 kgf/cm2, 33 psi)Rear 230 kPa (2.3 kgf/cm2, 33 psi)Higher pressures may cause the tire toburst. Inflate the tires very slowly andcarefully. Fast inflation could causethe tire to burst.2. The tires should be set to the recom-mended pressure:8 Recommended tire pressureFront 20 kPa (0.20 kgf/cm2, 2.9 psi)Rear 20 kPa (0.20 kgf/cm2, 2.9 psi)8 Check and adjust tire pressures whenthe tires are cold.8 Tire pressures must be equal on bothsides.3. Tire pressure below the minimumspecified could cause the tire to dis-lodge from the rim under severe ridingconditions. The following are mini-mums:Front 17 kPa (0.17 kgf/cm2, 2.5 psi)Rear 17 kPa (0.17 kgf/cm2, 2.5 psi)2D3-9-11-1 3/1/05 1:18 PM Page 4-19
