E- 2Precautions WhenPositioning the SpeakersThe speaker is constructed with the majority ofthe weight located in its upper portion, and is thussusceptible to falling over if proper care is nottaken to insure its stability. If the speaker fallsover, it may damage the speaker or be the cause ofinjury (or even death) to persons and/or damage topersonal property.■ For safe and proper use of thespeaker:• Position the speaker in a location that is solid,level, smooth, and low (with respect to thefloor).• Do not push or apply pressure to the side of thespeaker when moving, or lean objects againstthe side of the speaker.• Do not sit on or set objects on top of thespeaker.Vibrations or jolts associated with earthquakesand other phenomena or activities may cause thespeaker to fall over. For safety reasons, usingcommercially available products that increasestability in the speaker is recommended (metalfittings or chains, etc.).Placing the SpeakersPlace the speakers on a sturdy, vibration-freesurface.■ Using as Normal Stereo SpeakersTo get the best stereo performance, angle thespeakers inward so as to create a triangle, with thelistener at the apex.■ Using as Front Speakers in aSurround Sound SystemPosition the speakers both side of your TV.
