ii EnPrecautionsFor U.K. customersIf the socket outlets in the home are not suitable for theplug supplied with this appliance, it should be cut off andan appropriate 3 pin plug fitted. For details, refer to theinstructions described below.Note: The plug severed from the mains lead must bedestroyed, as a plug with bared flexible cord is hazardousif engaged in a live socket outlet.SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR U.K. MODELIf this product doesn’t work as expected, look for a possible cause in the troubleshooting section on page 7. If the issueyou are experiencing is not listed, or you cannot resolve it after reading through these instructions, disconnect the powercable and contact an authorized Yamaha dealer or service center.This unit is not disconnected from the AC powersource as long as it is connected to the wall outlet, evenif this unit itself is turned off. In this state, this unit isdesigned to consume a very small quantity of power.IMPORTANT:THE WIRES IN MAINS LEAD ARE COLOUREDIN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWINGCODE:Blue: NEUTRALBrown: LIVEAs the colours of the wires in the mains lead of thisapparatus may not correspond with the colouredmarkings identifying the terminals in your plug,proceed as follows: The wire which is colouredBLUE must be connected to the terminal which ismarked with the letter N or coloured BLACK. Thewire which is coloured BROWN must be connectedto the terminal which is marked with the letter L orcoloured RED. Make sure that neither wire isconnected to the earth terminal of a three pin plug.CautionThe speaker is constructedwith the majority of theweight located in its upperportion, and is thussusceptible to falling over ifproper care is not taken toensure its stability. If thespeaker tips over, the speakeror other personal property may be damaged or anindividual may be injured (possibly even fatallyinjured).For safe and proper use of the speaker:• Position the speaker in a location that is solid, level,smooth, and low (with respect to the floor).• Do not push or apply pressure to the side of thespeaker when moving, or lean objects against theside of the speaker.• Do not sit on or set objects on top of the speaker.Vibrations or jolts associated with earthquakes andother phenomena or activities may cause the speaker tofall over.
