If the problem you are experiencing is not listed below, or if theinstruction below does not help, disconnect the power cable, and contact the nearest authorized Yamaha dealer or service center.Problem Cause RemedyNo sound. The iPhone/iPod is not connectedsecurely.Connect the iPhone/iPod securely.The external device is not connectedsecurely.Connect the 3.5 mm (1/8 in) stereomini plug cable securely to the unit andexternal device.The unit is not turned on. Connect the AC adaptor and power cablesecurely.The volume is turned down. Turn up the volume.The protection circuitry has beenactivated by excessive volume.Turn down the volume.Cannot change the unit’s volumeby changing the iPhone/iPod’svolume.The connected iPod is not supported,or the iPhone/iPod is not connectedsecurely.Use a supported iPod, or connect iPhone/iPod securely.The iPhone/iPod display does notchange by pressing the remotecontrol’s volume keys.The iPhone/iPod cannot becontrolled using the remotecontrol.The external device cannot becontrolled using the remotecontrol.When playing an external device, onlythe volume can be changed using theremote control.Control all operations other than volumecontrol at the external device itself.The remote control cannot beused.The remote control is out of operationrange.Use the remote control within itsoperation range.Refer to the Quick Manual for moreinformation.The battery is exhausted or was notinserted correctly.Replace the battery and insert itcorrectly.Refer to “Replacing the Remote ControlBattery When It Is Exhausted” for moreinformation.The insulation sheet has not beenremoved.Remove the insulation sheet. When the iPhone/iPod is connected, the unit turns on and begins charging the iPhone/iPod’sbattery.To listen to music through the unit’s speakers, begin playback on the iPhone/iPod.The iPhone/iPod can be connected or disconnected anytime. When the iPhone/iPod is disconnected from the unit, the unitremembers the volume level. When the iPhone/iPod is connected again, the volume is set at the same level.NotesBe sure to use a Dock adapter that is compatible with your iPhone/iPod.•If you do not use an adapter or if the adapter is not compatible, the connection could be loose or poor, which could cause•damage or malfunctions.The iPhone/iPod may not be set in the iPod dock securely if it is in its protective case.•AUXConnects an external device to the unit. When the external device is connected, the unit turns on.To listen to music through the unit’s speakers, begin playback on the external device.To connect an external device to the unit, use a commercially available 3.5 mm (1/8 in) stereo mini plug cable.NoteWhen disconnecting the external device, be sure to remove the cable from AUX.
