8-29ESU03531Drive track adjustmentWARNING@A broken track, track fittings or debris thrown by thedrive track could be dangerous to an operator orbystanders. Observe the following precautions: Do not allow anyone to stand behind the snow-mobile when the engine is running. When the rear of the snowmobile is raised toallow the drive track to spin, a suitable standmust be used to support the rear of the snowmo-bile. Never allow anyone to hold the rear of thesnowmobile off the ground to allow the drivetrack to spin. Never allow anyone near a rotatingdrive track. Inspect the drive track condition frequently.Replace damaged slide metal. Replace the drivetrack if it is damaged to the depth where fabricreinforcement material is visible or support rodsare broken. Otherwise, track damage or failurecould result in loss of braking ability and snow-mobile control, which could cause an accident.@Drive track deflection measurement1. Lay the snowmobile on its side.2. Measure the drive track deflection with a springscale. Pull at the center of the drive track with a forceof 100 N (10 kg, 22 lb).NOTE:@Measure the gap between the slide runner and the edgeof the track window. Measure both sides.@1 Deflection2 100 N (10 kg, 22 lb)3. If the deflection is incorrect, adjust the drive track.Standard drive track deflection:For RX10/RX10M/RX10MS/RX10R/RX10RS30–35 mm (1.18–1.38 in) / 100 N (10 kg, 22 lb)For RXW10/RXW10S25–30 mm (0.98–1.18 in) / 100 N (10 kg, 22 lb)
