E-8CONTROLS AND THEIR FUNCTIONS1 POWER switchSet this switch to the ON position to turn on the powerof the subwoofer. When the power of the subwoofer ison, the power indicator below the POWER switch lightsup GREEN. Set this switch to the OFF position to turnoff the power of the subwoofer.2 Power indicatorLights up GREEN when the POWER switch is set tothe ON position and goes off when set to the OFFposition.* Standby modeIf the POWER switch is set to the ON position andthe AUTO STANDBY switch is set to the HIGH orLOW position, this indicator lights up RED when nosignal is inputted to the subwoofer.3 AUTO STANDBY (HIGH/LOW/OFF) switchBy setting this switch to the HIGH or LOW position, thesubwoofer’s automatic power-switching functionoperates as described on the right. If you do not needthis function, set to the OFF position.* Make sure to change the setting of this switch onlywhen the POWER switch (1) is in the OFFposition.4 INPUT2 terminalsUsed to input line level signals from the amplifier.5 INPUT1 (FROM AMPLIFIER) terminalsUsed to connect the subwoofer with the speakerterminals of the amplifier.6 OUTPUT (TO SPEAKERS) terminalsCan be used for connecting to the main speakers.Signals are sent directly from the amplifier to the mainspeakers by way of these terminals.7 VOLUME controlAdjusts the volume level.8 HIGH CUT (HIGH/LOW) switchSelects the high frequency cut off point.Normally, it is set to LOW, however, you may set toHIGH if necessary. Refer to “Note about setting theHIGH CUT switch” on page 9.Automatic power-switching functionWhen you play a source, the power of the subwooferturns on automatically by sensing audio signals input tothe subwoofer. On the other hand, the subwooferautomatically switches to the standby mode if the sourcebeing played is stopped or the input signal is cut off for afew minutes. This function will operate by sensing a certain level oflow frequency input signal. Its sensitivity is high in theHIGH position and low in the LOW position of the AUTOSTANDBY switch. Set this switch to the position youprefer. In the HIGH position, the power will turn on evenwith a low level of input signal. But please be aware thatthe subwoofer may not switch to the standby mode whenthere is an extremely low input signal.* The power might turn on unexpectedly by sensingnoise from other appliances. If that occurs, set theAUTO STANDBY switch to the OFF or LOW position.* The level of low frequency input signal differs witheach source and among different parts within thesame source. This means that the function may notoperate properly on some sources. This function is available only when the power of thesubwoofer is on (by setting the POWER switch (1)to “ON”).INPUT1FROM AMPLIFIEROUTPUTTO SPEAKERSINPUT2 /MONOHIGH CUTAUTOSTANDBYSTANDBY-REDON-GREENOFFLOWHIGHOFFPOWERONLOWHIGH1VOLUME0 I0OFFPOWERON564INPUT1FROM AMPLIFIEROUTPUTTO SPEAKERSINPUT2 /MONOHIGH CUTAUTOSTANDBYSTANDBY-REDON-GREENOFFLOWHIGH LOWHIGHVOLUME0 I02378Rear panel
